T1s: Dosing tips over an extended meal? - TuDiabetes

tudiabetes.org — “I've done a few searches of the forums but haven't found anything on point, so am turning to you guys for advice on meal dosing (MDI) given a specific situation. I'll be observing a landmark birthday with my three best buddies at Maggianno's. Most of the menu items I've chosen are reasonably low-carb -- Caesar salad, sausage and peppers, salmon, and chicken -- but one entree I won't pass up is the linguine with white clam sauce (which will be consumed with relative moderation).Cheesecake is alsoView full resource at tudiabetes.org

Pep talk and reassurance!!! - TuDiabetes

tudiabetes.org — “I just got off the phone with my Ominpod rep so the wheels are in motion! I admit though, reading some of the recent posts in this forum has given me pause. I don't blame anybody for posting issues with the pod here, after all, it is a great place to come for help. It's just that I'm doing fairly well on MDI. My A1C has been 6.0 for the last 6 months and I've been working hard to tighten my control even further, withsome signs of success. I know, however, thatI'm limited with mydosages of LantusView full resource at tudiabetes.org

Curious about the idea of "good control" - TuDiabetes

tudiabetes.com — “Since I have been on the pump, I have had very very few blood sugars go above 10 mmol and under 4 mmol. Would you consider this good control although i am going from 5 mmol to 9 mmol in a run of a day? When I has on mdi i was use to having low blood sugars alllll of the time, which is why my a1c remained in the low 5's, however now that i am on the pump i dont have any lows. So would under 10 and above 4 be considered a long term safe zone or does damage still get done?View full resource at tudiabetes.com

Let's figure this out. *edit* - TuDiabetes

tudiabetes.com — “So I posted a forum topic about my apidra issue. Basically I find that it it dosnt work for me. One night I had to take 60 units to cover a simple salad (that didnt even have croutons). So some folks suggested I open a new pen and try that to see of maybe the one I am using is defective. So I figured...why not. I already paid for around 10 pens and they are just sitting in my fridge. So I wanted to just write in here and log how it goes tonight. For the past couple of days I havent been taking iView full resource at tudiabetes.com

A sensitive question for OmniPod users.... - TuDiabetes

tudiabetes.com — “Hello all! I am new to the forum, and looking for some input from omnipod users. I am weeks away from getting an omnipod, and I have a question I couldn't really ask my diabetes educator! So....how do things work out with the omnipod and omnipod placement when you are....ahem...getting intimate? As a young woman with a serious boyfriend, this is something that has crossed my mind as I've considered switching from MDI to a pump. I'm sorry if this offends anyone but I appreciate your honest responView full resource at tudiabetes.com
