As of September, 27 states " including California, Florida, Minnesota, Ohio, North Carolina, Pennsylvania, and Texas " are reporting widespread influenza activity, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC). Influenza hospitalization rates are up for children 5-17 and adults 18-49 years of age. Sadly, 60 pediatric deaths related to 2009 H1N1 flu have been reported.
