Accelr8 Announces Development Expansion for Blood-Based IVDs | IVD Technology

ivdtechnology.com — “Accelr8 Technology Corp. announced that it successfully completed two technical feasibility studies for test methods that expand its BACcel rapid diagnostic test library and automation capabilities. The first is a same-day multi-pathogen, multiple drug resistance diagnostic panel for positive blood cultures. tudiabetes.org — “Thirty-eight years ago, I was diagnosed with type 1 diabetes. Today, of course, I no longer have the symptoms of diabetes. I manage it pretty well with my diet, exercise, and insulin. However, I have something else. What you might call signs of living with diabetes. They seem intricately linked to my daily diabetes tasks: counting carbohydrates at every meal, testing my blood sugar several times a day, trying to make sure it doesn't go too high or too low, and taking daily injections of insulin.View full resource at tudiabetes.org

Genetic Testing May Be Valuable In Treating Colorectal Cancer

feeds.sciencedaily.com — “A new cost-effectiveness study has determined that so-called pretreatment pharmacogenetic testing is only beneficial if dose-reduced treatment is shown to be nearly as effective as the full dose. If the lower dose is as effective, the test could prevent many cases of severe neutropenia, an abnormally low count of an important type of white blood cells known as neutrophils. It would also mean better life expectancy and lower cost of care.View full resource at feeds.sciencedaily.com
