Which infusion set do you use for an extremely active 4 year old? Animas pump. - TuDiabetes

tudiabetes.org — “Help please.I just spent 2 days trying out my son's orbit micro infusion set. I love it. The needle is smaller than his syringe. Didn't even hurt, blue tubing is cool, nice short 18 tube etc. The high profile on that thing is killing me though. How am I going to attach that to a bouncing 4 year old? I can see an arm site but never a leg or bottom site. He would knock that thing around like crazy. I need something as reliable as the Animas Inset 30s, which I have never tried, but the University oView full resource at tudiabetes.org

Which infusion set? To pump or not to pump? - TuDiabetes

tudiabetes.org — “Thanks for reading. I've been on MDI for 26 years and just got the MM 722 pump with the Quick set 6mm straight cannula a week ago. The first place I put the infusion set was in my love handle on my left side. This stung for about 4 hours, and eventually went away. Three days passed and I tried the front of my right abdomen and got a No Delivery alarm about an hour later. Then I switched to my left abdomen. Again, no delivery. I thought that maybe the cannula bent against my muscle, so with that View full resource at tudiabetes.org

tudiabetes.org — “Today I celebrate 26 years living with Type 1 diabetes. 26 years!!! I remember being 18 & saying, Man, I can't believe I've had diabetes for 3 years already! That seems like last year. Time flies & I am so fortunate to be happy & healthy after many finger pricks, needles, infusion sets, highs, lows, ups & downs, airport security checks, & a host of other challenges! Here's to me & to all of you touched by diabetes. We are special people indeed!View full resource at tudiabetes.org

Apidra breaking down quickly - TuDiabetes

tudiabetes.com — “Lately I've been having a lot of problems with Apidra breaking down after only a day or two of an infusion set, as well as for the life of the bottle. (I can't remember the last time I was able to finish one before the insulin became really cloudy.) Other than this, I really like being on Apidra - it brings my highs down to normal in less than an hour! - but it's causing my BGs to jump pretty significantly on the third day... and I really don't want to have to change my sets every other day.
