According to The National Organization for Albinism and Hypopigmentation (NOAH), one person in 17,000 in the United States has some form of albinism. In one form of the condition, called ocular albinism, vision problems are the only symptom. The skin and eye colors of people with ocular albinism are usually in the normal range, but their retinas are colorless.
