Ten loci affect QT interval
Two independent genomewide association studies have identified common variants at 10 gene regions that modulate the QT interval, five of which are entirely new: they were previously unknown to affect myocardial repolarization. (Newton-Cheh C et al. Pfeufer A et al. Nat Genet; published online before print March 22, 2009.)
