Statins improve stroke outcomes in normal-LDL patients

In a prospective cohort study of patients with ischemic stroke and LDL-C <100 mg/dL, those who had been on statins were significantly more likely to be discharged with no or only slight disability. (Stead LG et al. J Stroke Cerebrovasc Dis 2009; 18:124-127.)
