I always thought acne was caused by bacteria. I bought a special face wash and have been washing my face diligently for the past three weeks with no results. Why is this? What else can I do to get rid of my acne? Some bacteria do play a role in acne. However, bacteria are not the primary cause of the problem. The primary casue is a blockage of the hair follicles called a comedone. Comedones are also known as blackheads or whiteheads. It is this blockage that leads to an overgrowth of bacteria. T
