Rosuvastatin fails to lower CV events and death in ESRD patients

Finally—a group of people who do not seem to benefit from statins. In the AURORA trial, rosuvastatin did not ward off cardiovascular events in patients with end-stage renal disease on hemodialysis. Just why this is so remains a mystery, but investigators speculate it might be due to the high degree of arterial calcification.
