Risk of ixabepilone-associated neuropathy is higher in patients with preexisting PN - ONA

Pre-existing peripheral neuropathy (PN) is significantly associated with the risk of developing ixabepilone-related PN. Peripheral neuropathy with ixabepilone is manageable and reversible within a period of weeks in most patients, and early identification of at-risk patients or patients with PN symptoms is the key to effective management of this effect. The data were presented at the Oncology Nursing Society 36th Annual Congress.
