N-acetylcysteine helps reverse DNA damage associated with aging - Life Extension Update

The October 15, 2011 issue of the journal Human Molecular Genetics published a report by researchers from Durham University in England and the University of Bologna in Italy concerning their discovery of a protective effect for the amino acid N-acetylcysteine against DNA damage in Hutchinson-Gilford progeria syndrome (HGPS), one of several inherited diseases known as a laminopathies caused by mutations in the gene LMNA.
