Many pregnant women are not screened for gestational diabetes

Despite the fact that the rate of gestational diabetes is rising at a dramatic rate, a new study has found that only two out of three women are tested for the condition. Gestational diabetes may cause a range of birth complications. Children born to mothers with the condition often have an enlarged body size and unhealthy blood sugar levels.
