When it comes to weight control and eating in general, I am committed to a flexible, realistic, and personal approach. I do not believe in fad diets or unnecessary diet pills. I do believe in making informed choices based on your values and preferences, with a clear understanding of the consequences, for better or for worse. Throughout my career, I have used a "Non-Diet Approach" to weight control, which emphasizes appetite regulation and learning to solve emotional problems without using food. For medical problems that require a therapeutic diet, I teach my patients how to choose specific foods in the correct amounts for their optimal health. I nutritious, well-prepared food and physical activity performed in the total health.
