Ramesh Naik (56), from Sirsi had a history of hoarseness of voice, difficult and noisy breathing. DrSheetal D Jain, consultant ENT and laser surgeon diagnosed Naik with cancer of the vocal cords (voice box) and suggested total laryngectomy (where the voice box is removed completely and the patient loses his voice). Radiotherapy and laser surgery are the options for this type of throat cancer.
