The goal of rheumatoid arthritis treatment is to suppress the disease to prevent joint damage. Treatment can be broadly divided into two groups: anti-inflammatories and corticosteroids to control symptoms and diseases modifying anti-rheumatic drugs (DMARD) that work on the immune pathway to slow joint destruction.
