FDA Has Banned Ephedra: Consumer Advisory [NCCAM Health Information]
In April 2004, the FDA advised consumers to stop using dietary supplements containing ephedrine alkaloids (ephedra). Ephedra is associated with an increased risk of side effects, possibly even fatal ones.
