Diclofenac has same CV risks as withdrawn COX-2 blocker

A new observational study looking at the entire Danish population has found that the commonly used NSAID diclofenac has similar cardiovascular risks to the withdrawn COX-2 inhibitor rofecoxib, in healthy people. Given that diclofenac is widely used and available over the counter in many countries, these findings are worrying, say the researchers.
