Diastolic dysfunction and exercise

Diastolic dysfunction has been shown to be independently and strongly related to reduced exercise capacity in a new cross-sectional study, pointing to a potentially modifiable factor that might be a target for interventions that could help maintain exercise capacity as people age, say the researchers. (Grewal J et al. JAMA 2009; 301:286-294.)
