Warranty Information - TuDiabetes

tudiabetes.org — “As I understand it, pump warranties run for 4 years, right? I don't know if this is insurance companies' rules or pump companies' rules, but either way, I've always gotten a new insulin pump about every 4 years. About a year ago, my Mimimed Paradigm 722 was replaced. Over the course of a year, there was some kind of button error 3 times, which pretty much gave me a heart attack because I didn't know what was wrong, or how to fix it. So I got a new pump. Mimimed sent it overnight and they were reView full resource at tudiabetes.org

If I had one pump wish, it would be.... - TuDiabetes

tudiabetes.org — “I'm sure each one of us has a favorite brand/features and could think of several things for a wish list for our our pumps. I'd love to hear what you think about your pump. I invite you to answer this very informal survey in comments. There are a few questions, but the first is the most important one. It can include anything to do with the pump system - the pump, meter, infusion sets available, or anything else that might affect your use of the system. Also, no fair to answer that you want toView full resource at tudiabetes.org

Anthem/Blue Shield won't replace my out-of-warranty pump. - TuDiabetes

tudiabetes.com — “Is this a standard practice? It was always my (mistaken?) understanding that my insurance company would replace my pump when it was no longer in-warranty. I have just been informed otherwise - until it actually breaks I'm out of luck. I kinda wanted a new pump and to keep my old (working) pump as a backup for emergencies but that plan has been shot down. Now, when I spoke to Animas about this issue they assured me they'd send me a loaner pump when mine broke (I traded in my Cozmo for a Ping) whiView full resource at tudiabetes.com

Nici -- About Me - TuDiabetes

tudiabetes.com — “Hi all! I have been lurking on the outskirts of the DOC for a long time and have been taking advantage of all of the knowledge our here! I finally decided that it was time to become more involved. Maybe my experiences and knowledge can help out someone else. I have had Type 1 Diabetes since 1982 (about 27 years.) I use a Medtronic Minimed 522 insulin pump and Novolog insulin. Over the years, I have used everything from Pork insulin to blood sugar tests that involved urine, test tubes, and eye View full resource at tudiabetes.com

Is it really the pump? - TuDiabetes

tudiabetes.com — “I've noticed a recurring theme in discussions. When people relay info about pre-pump experiences, it seems that they learned about (or more about) I:C ratios, carb counting, ISF & other nuances of control as a mandatory part of pump training. This appears to be information they didn't have, or didn't apply, prior to pumping. Many times we hear how pumps improved A1c. I've been curious for a while if the pump gets the credit when improvement is really, or partly, a result of better educatView full resource at tudiabetes.com

Medingo and the Solo - Be Smart - TuDiabetes

tudiabetes.com — “Hi guys I just wanted to write a little post about the Solo pump but more importantly about new diabetes devices that come on the market. As a community and someone who shares information on diabetes (like the new Solo pump) I feel we might be misleading some of our diabetic friends. Truly the Solo pump is something new and something to be excited about (I think) but I feel bad because I have heard some Diabetics say the Solo is better than ________ pump Fill in the blank there.
