Desirudin reduced major venous thromboembolism and post-operative bleeding compared with the standard of care, enoxaparin, in patients with poor kidney function undergoing orthopedic surgery, according to a poster presented at the Arteriosclerosis, Thrombosis and Vascular Biology meeting.
