Cryoballoon Ablation Coverage Endorsement
On June 1, 2011, the Society submitted comments to the California Technology Assessment Forum (CTAF) in response to the Forum’s request for information on the safety and efficacy of cryoablation for AF patients. Citing studies on the modality, HRS indicated that there is adequate evidence available at this time to endorse the use of cryoballoon ablation for the treatment of drug refractory, symptomatic paroxysmal atrial fibrillation.
