Coffee intake associated with decreased stroke risk in women

A new analysis from the Nurses' Health Study shows an inverse association between coffee intake and stroke risk, suggesting a protective effect of about 20%, although only in nonsmoking women. (Lopez-Garcia E et al. Circulation; published online before print February 16, 2009.)
