Canadian lipid recommendations to include CRP testing
New Canadian guidelines for the diagnosis and treatment of dyslipidemia and the prevention of cardiovascular disease will recommend the testing of hs-CRP for certain patients, most notably those at intermediate risk. However, the lead author stresses that the majority of patients will not require a CRP test and that recommending and promoting a healthy lifestyle must be the first port-of-call for doctors.
