Morgan LaRue, 9, of Lovelady, Tx., an athletic child involved in school sports, came home from school complaining of a knee ache. Instead of healing with time, LaRue's family noticed the pain persisted for nearly three weeks. When her parents took her to see a pediatrician, an X-ray showed that LaRue had a tumor in her knee. And just before Christmas 2009, LaRue was diagnosed with osteosarcoma, a rare form of bone cancer deep within her leg bone.
