squidoo.com

Fibromyalgia affects 3-6 million Americans, according to the American College of Rheumatology. It primarily affects women of child bearing age, but children, the elderly and men can also be affected. Common fibromyalgia symptoms include unusual fatigue, pain in the muscles, irritable bowels, depression, tinnitus, and headaches. There are no specific lab tests for fibromyalgia. The diagnosis is made by physical exam and symptoms - the most pronounced being hypersensitivity to pain.
