Basketball and Concussions: Head Injuries on the Rise in Teen Sports - ABC News

A new study from the Center for Injury Research and Policy at Nationwide Children's Hospital looked at basketball-related injuries treated in emergency departments among children and teens from 1997 to 2007. While the number of total injuries decreased 22 percent over that time period, the number of head traumas increased.
