Aerobic exercise relieves insomnia

Millions of middle-aged and older adults who suffer from insomnia have a new drug-free prescription for a more restful night's sleep. Regular aerobic exercise dramatically improves the quality of sleep, mood and vitality, according to a new study from Northwestern Medicine. This is the first study to examine the effect of aerobic exercise on this population, of which about 50 percent complain of chronic insomnia symptoms.
