Diagnostic approaches, including capsule endoscopy and magnetic resonance enteroscopy, appear to be effective in managing patients with inflammatory bowel disease, evading use of ionizing radiation, according to research presented at the annual scientific meeting of the American College of Gastroenterology, held from Oct. 15 to 20 in San Antonio. Another study presented suggests that exposure to ionizing radiation in patients with inflammatory bowel disease tends to be high.
