Abbott Laboratories (NYSE: ABT) announced Friday that it is pulling its weight loss drug Meridia (sibutramine) from the U.S. market. The company's decision is in line with a request from the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) which cited studies linking the drug with increased risks of heart disease.
