The debate over what role aluminium has as a risk factor for Alzheimer's disease has another interesting incident to study. Water supplies to 20,000 people in and around Camelford, England were contaminated when aluminium sulphate went into the wrong treatment tank. Resident Carole Cross died from a rare form of Alzheimer's disease. Very high levels of aluminium were found in the affected areas of her brain tissue.
