    Dr. Carolyn Anderson

    Dr. Carolyn Anderson is a fellow of the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada with a specialist designation in Ophthalmology.  She completed a Bachelors Degree in Molecular Biology and Genetics at Simon Fraser University in 1990.  This training included graduate courses in Oncology leading to published works in the area of Cancer research.  She was also involved in peer counseling.  She then went on to medical school at the University of British Columbia, graduating in 1994.  Following this she completed a general internship covering all fields of medicine at the Royal Columbian Hospital.  In 1995, she began residency training in Ophthalmology at the University of  British Columbia with additional training at Stanford University, and the University of Western Australia.  

    Dr. Anderson began practicing Ophthalmology in Langley in 1999 and focuses her practice on cataract surgery, glaucoma, monitoring of ocular diseases and cosmetic procedures.   She performs upwards of 1000 cataract surgeries a year using state of the art technology in surgical instrumentation and lenses.  She performs cataract surgery at Langley Memorial Hospital as well as at the Langley Surgical Centre, a private state of the art facility of which she is co-owner.  

    She is on the Board of Executives for the Langley Memorial Hospital Foundation and is the past president of the B.C. Society of Eye Physicians and Surgeons.  

    Having an interest and expertise in business, motivation and communication, Dr. Anderson has harnessed these talents into helping people recognize and reach their potential through her new company CK Impower Strategies Inc.  She has a great appreciation for the wisdom and experience of age and has developed the division Impowerage specifically to focus on working with and empowering the older population (For more information log onto the website atwww.impowerage.com).  She is also involved in education, empowerment, leadership and organization of medical practices through the division ImpowerMed (For more information log onto the website at http://www.impowermed.com/).
