The new antidepressant drugs are not only used to lower depression but also to treat anxiety disorders inclusive of obsessive compulsive disorder, post-traumatic stress disorder, social anxiety disorder or social phobia, panic disorder, and possibly chronic fatigue. They can also be used to treat severe disease such as schizophrenia that is not eased by use of antipsychotic drugs.
