Living with ADHD: 9 Ways to Focus and Get Things Done

1. Pace yourself
Break down large tasks into small ones and set deadlines. At the beginning of each month, each week and each day, prioritize what you have to do and set a realistic time for each. Build in time for delays like traffic and meals. Transitions between activities can be difficult, so take short breaks between each task. Set up a small reward system for yourself for every day you complete your list or meet a deadline. Give yourself permission to “goof off” for a short time each day. It may take some time to properly estimate how long some things will take. (Try timing activities you do regularly and write down how long each one takes to help you schedule.)
