In the region surrounding Fargo, North Dakota and Wahpeton, Minnesota, residents don’t have to go far to breathe easy. The Fargo-Wahpeton area has not only been deemed to have the cleanest air in the country, it is also home to the most modern hospital in the region. In addition, it's the nation’s only metropolitan area to be ranked on all three of the clean air lists (coming in at #4 for lowest ozone pollution levels, #16 for the lowest long-term particle pollution levels, and #9 for the lowest short-term particle pollution levels).
