Bio

Dr. Sally Canning is committed to learning from and serving urban, low-income, children and families-of-color as a community/clinical-child psychologist. She links the resources of faith-based community and campus organizations for the benefit of under-resourced communities and also trains psychologists for practice with underserved populations.
She is currently researching pregnancy and post-partum mood disorders in low-income Latinos and African American populations and is also performing an integrative examination of the idea of “self-care” for helping professionals. She is a Professor of Psychology at Wheaton College in Illinois.
