Single Nucleotide Polymorphism (SNP)

Research Notes on Single Nucleotide Polymorphism (SNP)

A single nucleotide polymorphism (SNP, pronounced "snip") is a tiny genetic change that occurs within a person's DNA sequence. These minute changes can be used to track inheritance in families, as well as affecting how individuals develop diseases and respond to pathogens, chemicals, drugs, vaccines and other agents.
