Project Linus is a not-for-profit organization that coordinates blanket donation to seriously ill or traumatized children all across the United States. Individuals and groups across the country knit, sew and quilt blankets ranging in size from infant receiving blankets to twin-size blankets. The idea behind the project came from founder Karen Loucks, after she saw the comfort a hospitalized child received from a special blanket.

Fast Facts:

  • They have donated more than two million blankets.
  • Blankets are new and homemade.
  • Blankets are distributed through hospitals, shelters and other agencies.1
