maryhartleyRDmy LinkedIn page.

In 2011, I returned to clinical practice after working in the Internet industry. My goal is to offer services that are above and beyond "normal" care. I do not maintain a physical office; instead, I visit patients and their families in their homes in Brooklyn Heights and Cobble Hill, a charming historic section of Brooklyn, New York City. For everyone else, and I use Skype, the telephone, and email to “visit” with my patients. The care is always high quality regardless of method.

When it comes to weight control, I am committed to a flexible, realistic and personal approach. I do not believe in fad diets or unnecessary diet pills. I do believe in making informed choices based on your values and preferences, with a clear understanding of the consequences, for better or for worse. Throughout my career, I have used a "Non-Diet Approach" to weight control, which emphasizes appetite regulation and learning to solve emotional problems without using food. For medical problems that require a therapeutic diet, I teach my patients how to choose specific foods in the correct amounts for their optimal health. I nutritious, well-prepared food and physical activity performed in the total health.

My patient services include dietary and nutritional status assessment, food and nutrition counseling and education, personalized diet and activity plans, and coordination of care with family or others at your request. To read about my services and to book an appointment, visit my website and blog at AskMaryRD.com

In addition to my clinical practice, I provide services as a brand ambassador, social marketing expert, speaker, writer, digital content adviser, and media personality.  I focus on special projects, products and services in the areas of food and nutrition and related IT." /> Mary Hartley, RD, MPH Nutritionist, Dietitian, and Active Health Library
