Instructions: Creating WisdomCards
1. If you have already created your Guide or Physician Review account, completed your application, received your email welcoming you to the Guide Program, and selected your first WisdomCard topic from our Most Wanted List, please continue to read the instructions below. If you have not yet applied or received a confirmation email, please check the Getting Started page to learn about the process.
2. Read ALL of these important tutorials:
3. Go to guides.organizedwisdom.com. (Note: this is the main Guide site where you will create WisdomCards. Once WisdomCards are approved, we publish them on the LIVE site at www.organizedwisdom.com).
4. Login using the username and password you created when you applied. If you have forgotten your password, you can refer back to your Welcome Email, or you can click the forgotten password link and have a new one sent to your email. If you have problems, please email us at guides <at> organizedwisdom <dot> com so we can help you.
5. Claim your first WisdomCard by selecting a topic you are interested in from the Most Wanted List. At the top of unclaimed WisdomCards there is a link that says "Claim this WisdomCard" -- click that to claim the WisdomCard so you can work on it.
If you've already claimed a topic, locate your first WisdomCard template by searching for the exact topic you selected and claimed from the Most Wanted List.
6. Click the "edit" link located at the bottom of the page to start building your first WisdomCard. If you have problems finding your WisdomCard template and opening the edit page, first make sure you are logged in and make sure that your user name is listed next to the Guide position at the top of the page. If you still have questions, contact guides <at> organizedwisdom <dot> com.
7. Search the Web to find the very best health sites, resources, and wisdom for each section of the template. Use this list of Useful Search Resources to get started. It will save you lots of time. We suggest reading the training material BEFORE you get started on your card. You will then begin organizing the best resources in a WisdomCard using the template supplied. You must use the standard MediaWiki formatting outlined in our Editing Instructions.
8. In the Guide Note section, use what you learned during your Web search to create a brief, engaging summary of your topic. This will show up at the top of your WisdomCard.
9. Save your work! Be sure to hit the save button regularly so that you don't lose any of your work.
10. Click on the Discuss This WisdomCard link (located on the middle of the right column of the WisdomCard) to leave any important notes for the reviewer about your card. This will help the reviewers be more efficient and understand any issues you may have had.
11. Check your WisdomCard before you submit it! When you are certain that it matches the quality of the published WisdomCards on the OrganizedWisdom site, click the "Submit for Review" link next to your guide name on the WisdomCard template.
12. To check the status of each of your WisdomCards, and see a list of the WisdomCards that have been sent back to you for edits, log in and click on "Dashboard" at the top right of the page. When fixes or edits are required, your cards will be sent back to you with instructions listed on the "Discuss this WisdomCard" page.
13. The Dashboard will also list all of your WisdomCards that have been accepted and approved. You will be paid via direct deposit on our next pay cycle. Learn how to get paid here.
14. If you have questions during the process or are not seeing your WisdomCards show up properly on your Dashboard reports after submitting your WisdomCard for review, please contact us immediately at guides <at> organizedwisdom <dot> com.
15. Select more topics from our Most Wanted List. Once your first WisdomCard has been approved, you can select WisdomCard topics 5 at a time. If there are particular health topics for which you would like to create WisdomCards, and they are not on our list and not on the LIVE site, please let us know.
16. Please be aware that WisdomCards that go untouched for 15 days or more are considered "abandoned" and returned to other Guides for completion. If you do not want your card to become "abandoned" simply continue to work on your WisdomCard and submit it within that week. If you no longer wish to work on a WisdomCard you've claimed, choose "Abandon card" to release it immediately.
