In vivo photodynamic therapy using upconversion nanoparticles as remote-controlled nanotransducers : Nature Medicine : Nature Publishing Group
nature.com — “A limitation of photodynamic therapy (PDT) is the depth of penetration of visible light needed for activation of the photosensitizers, restricting treatment to tumors on or just under the skin’s surface or those lining internal organs and cavities. Niagara Muhammad Idris and colleagues have addressed this issue by developing upconversion fluorescent nanoparticles (UNCs) that convert deeper penetrating near-infrared light to visible wavelengths without sacrificing efficacy for singlet oxygen (1O2” View full resource at nature.com

Nanoparticles allow non-invasive treatment for deep cancer | R&D Mag
rdmag.com — “A research team in Singapore believes their latest work has proven that nanoparticle technology can inhibit tumor growth and control gene expression in mice. The team has discovered a way to do this by using photodynamic nanoparticles which are able to convert near-infrared (NIR) light to visible or ultraviolet (UV) light. Previously this could only be done by starting with harmful UV light.” View full resource at rdmag.com

Skin Laser and Surgery Specialists | Blog | I'm in New Jersey and my spa offers BOTOX treatments for half of the cost of the doctors in my area.
skinandlasers.com — “I'm in New Jersey and my spa offers BOTOX treatments for half of the cost of the doctors in my area. Why would going to a doctor's office be a better option? Is it really worth the money? Anyone can inject Botox; however, if you want a natural look, best to have this done in a doctor's office. The careful approach by a qualified cosmetic physician will avoid that "deer in the headlight" look associated with poor quality Botox injections.” View full resource at skinandlasers.com
