Resource Description:

Diabetic nephropathy, or kidney disease, is a condition in which the kidneys no longer function properly. It is a common side effect of diabetes, often triggered by two other diabetes-related health issues: high blood pressure (hypertension) and high blood sugar (hyperglycemia). Almost half of all people with diabetes will develop some type of damage to their kidney cells.
