Cerebrovascular accident (CVA) or stroke is a condition that occurs when a blood vessel carrying oxygenated blood ruptures and a certain part of the brain does not get its required oxygen supply. When someone is suspected to be suffering from stroke, the victim should be given medical help within three hours after stroke onset. Unresponsive victims require more attention as they are prone to other complications such as airway blockage and choking or aspiration due to vomit and secretions that are not drained properly due to poor positioning.
