Dr. Albear is committed to his profession. He has been a participating member of the ASPS Product Advisory Committee since 2007, as well as a participating member of ASPS's Program Committee since 2009.
Dr. Albear received his medical degree from The University of Illinois College of Medicine. While pursuing his medical doctorate, he served as an active member of the Plastic Surgery Research Group at the University of Chicago.
Dr. Albear completed a five-year General Surgery residency at Michigan State University where he received the James Heersink Teaching Award. He then completed his Plastic Surgery Fellowship at the University of Tennessee.
He continued his education in Houston, Texas at the world-renowned Texas Medical Center at the Baylor College of Medicine where he completed his education in Hand Surgery in the Department of Plastic Surgery. He was acting Chief of Plastic Surgery at the James A. Haley Veterans Hospital from August 2006 through 2007. He was officially appointed Chief of Plastic Surgery in 2010, a position he currently holds today.  He is also on the teaching staff at the James A. Haley Veterans Hospital were he has had a courtesy appointment with the University of South Florida College of Medicine.
He has traveled to the Amazon jungle with the University of Tennessee to perform reconstructive facial surgery. He has also authored numerous publications and has presented his research nationally.

    Ryan D. Madanick, M.D. is an Assistant Professor of Medicine at UNC School of Medicine in Chapel Hill, North Carolina and works in the Center for Esophageal Diseases and Swallowing. 

    Dr. Madanick attended the University of Miami in the Honors Program in Medicine, where he earned both his undergraduate and medical degrees. He completed his residency in Internal Medicine at Thomas Jefferson University Hospital in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, where he was awarded Intern of the Year and Outstanding Teaching Resident. He returned to Miami for his subspecialty fellowship in gastroenterology at Jackson Memorial Hospital/University of Miami Medical Center. He is currently the director of the UNC Gastroenterology & Hepatology Fellowship Program.
