Research Notes on Fan Use May Cut SIDS Risk In Infants


A recent study released in the Archives of Pediatrics & Adolescent Medicine shows that using a fan while an infant is sleeping may reduce the risk of SIDS by 72%. The study also noted that using a fan with a room temperature of higher than 69 degrees may reduce the risk by 94%. The fan increases air movement in the infant's bedroom which prevents the baby from re-breathing in carbon dioxide.
