An excimer laser is a treatment option for patients with psoriasis. To treat psoriasis plaques, the excimer laser targets the topmost layer of abnormal skin and leaving the lower layers of tissue unharmed. Like other UVB treatments, the excimer laser carries some risk. However, it can be an excellent treatment choice for patients with psoriasis, particularly those who have not responded well to other psoriasis treatments.
