CNN's chief medical correspondent, Dr. Sanjay Gupta, has withdrawn his nomination as the U.S. surgeon general. Dr. Gupta stated on Larry King Live that he did not want to stop performing brain surgery, leave his television career, or spend extended time away from his family. Dr. Gupta is the latest in a string of dropouts among likely candidates for high posts in President Obama's administration.1
