Dr. Gerald L. Andriole, Jr. is a professor of surgery, and the chief of urologic surgery, for the Washington University School of Medicine in St. Louis, Missouri. He is also the director of the Prostate Study Center at Barnes-Jewish Hospital.1While excelling in patient care, Dr. Andriole loves academic medicine. His colleagues call him a "doctors doctor".2 He is also the editor of the Year Book of Urology since 1997, a compendium of the best articles and research in the field for the year.1
