I've tried putting lotion or cortisone around it, which relives the itching but also releases the adhesive on the site. Any suggestions? The tape around the site doesn't leave a rash or anything, so I don't think that's what's bothering him. We use the Animas Insets.View full resource at tudiabetes.org

Keloids, or big thick scars, occur in some people (may run in families) after the most trivial break in the skin. They ae very difficult to treat. Methods of treatment include the use of pressure bandages to flatten the scar, injections of localized cortisone or pulsed dye laser treatment.
