    Tara Cousineau, PhD

I am licensed clinical psychologist  specializing in stress management, positive psychology, and mind-body health. I have over 15 years experience as a psychologist and health educator and maintain a small private practice in Milton, MA. My focus has been on girls and women's health, including body image, self-esteem, reproductive health, infertility, life transitions, and stress management.

The other part of my career is in the area of technology-based health communications, including web- and mobile-based health tools. This may seem like a paradox to some since my clinical background is in mind-body health, a form of behavioral medicine that focuses inner calm, life balance, and groundedess. Yet, at the same time I love tools that may nudge people forward into healthy living or connecting with others who may have similar life challenges, e.g., through online communities, daily email reminders or affirmations, and text messages to remind you to take a breath or smile. In an age of technology immersion there are many contemporary methods to being well.

My interest in adolescent health stems from a teen health program I developed through a grant from the National Institutes of Health.
