C. Onyeije, M.D. MFM
Chukwuma I. Onyeije, MD is board certified in Obstetrics and Gynecology and Maternal-Fetal Medicine by the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology. Dr. Onyeije received his medical degree in 1992 from the Howard University College of Medicine after graduating with honors from the Howard University College of Liberal Arts in 1988. He completed his OB/GYN residency at Harlem Hospital Center in New York City, in 1996, and his fellowship training in Maternal-Fetal Medicine and Obstetrical Sonography in 1998 at the Albert Einstein College of Medicine in New York. He was Assistant Professor of OB/GYN and Director of the Perinatal Services at the North Central Bronx Hospital from 1998 to 1999. Most recently he has been a Clinical Assistant Professor of OB/GYN at New York University School of Medicine and the Director of Resident Education at Lenox Hill Hospital in Manhattan, New York. During his four years at Lenox Hill Hospital Dr. Onyeije developed a large private practice consisting of high-risk pregnant patients. Dr. Onyeije has published articles, book chapters, and internet presentations on obstetrical sonography and pregnancy complications. He is presently involved in studies involving new techniques to diagnose and treat fetal distress. He is a diplomat of the American College of Obstetrics and Gynecology, and a member of the National Medical Association (NMA), and the Society for Gynecologic Investigation.
